Although you have to discard a card from your hand, this could be turned into a positive strategy to put a powerful Monster onto the field using Monster Reborn or other similar cards, whilst at the same time removing one of your opponents Monsters. Normal Magic Cards are often very powerful. Their effect can be activated as soon as they are placed in the Magic and Trap Card Zone, or they can be Set there for later use, and they are destroyed as soon as the effect has been applied. You cannot have more than 5 Magic and Trap Cards in the Magic and Trap Card Zone.
